Rudolph led Tennessee to 23 consecutive points against the Colts — the team's second straight scoring flurry under the veteran — before running out of time. Brian Thomas Jr. now holds every franchise rookie receiving record and is one of Jacksonville's few bright spots in 2024. He's been targeted 49 times the past four games, with fellow receivers Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis out for the season. He has 73 catches for 1,088 yards and nine touchdowns. The Titans know Jacksonville will try to run on them early and often after they gave up 335 yards rushing last week to the Colts. Jacksonville added LB Yasir Abdullah to the injury report Friday as questionable with an illness. This is the second game between these teams in a four-week span. The Jaguars are trying to sweep the season series for the second time in three seasons. They also have won four of the past five between these teams. The Titans won the 2023 regular-season finale in coach Mike Vrabel's last game before he was fired two days later. The Titans can finish with a .500 record inside the AFC South if they win their final two games. ... Thomas is the first rookie in franchise history and the 25th in league history to top 1,000 yards receiving. He needs seven receptions to become the seventh player in team history with at least 80 catches in a season. ... The large package of aid includes a significant amount of munitions, including for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems and the Hawk air defence system. It also will provide Stinger missiles and 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, officials said. The officials, who said they expect the announcement to be made on Monday, spoke on condition of anonymity to provide details not yet made public. The new aid comes as Russia launched a barrage of attacks against Ukraine’s power facilities in recent days, although Ukraine has said it intercepted a significant number of the missiles and drones. Russian and Ukrainian forces are also still in a bitter battle around the Russian border region of Kursk, where Moscow has sent thousands of North Korean troops to help reclaim territory taken by Ukraine. Earlier this month, senior defence officials acknowledged that the US Defence Department may not be able to send all of the remaining 5.6 billion dollars (£4.5 billion) in Pentagon weapons and equipment stocks passed by Congress for Ukraine before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in. Mr Trump has talked about getting some type of negotiated settlement between Ukraine and Russia, and spoken about his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Many US and European leaders are concerned that it might result in a poor deal for Ukraine and they worry that he will not provide Ukraine with all the weapons funding approved by Congress. The aid in the new package is in presidential drawdown authority, which allows the Pentagon to take weapons off the shelves and send them quickly to Ukraine. This latest assistance would reduce the remaining amount to about 4.35 billion dollars (£3.46 billion). Officials have said they hope that an influx of aid will help strengthen Ukraine’s hand, should Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky decide it is time to negotiate. One senior defence official said that while the US will continue to provide weapons to Ukraine until January 20, there may well be funds remaining that will be available for the incoming Trump administration to spend. According to the Pentagon, there is also about 1.2 billion dollars (£0.9 billion) remaining in longer-term funding through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, which is used to pay for weapons contracts that would not be delivered for a year or more. Officials have said the administration anticipates releasing all of that money before the end of the calendar year. If the new package is included, the US will have provided more than 64 billion dollars (£50.8 billion) in security assistance to Ukraine since Russia invaded in February 2022.The Fine Gael leader was asked about the controversy in the first question posed during the second and final TV leaders’ debate of Ireland’s General Election campaign. Mr Harris apologised over the weekend for his handling of the discussion with Charlotte Fallon while canvassing in Kanturk in Co Cork on Friday evening. The Taoiseach was accused of dismissing concerns that Ms Fallon raised about Government support for the disability sector during the exchange filmed by RTE in a supermarket. Mr Harris rang Ms Fallon on Saturday and said he unreservedly apologised for the way he treated her, however focus has since shifted to Fine Gael’s interactions with the national broadcaster about the social media video. At the outset of Tuesday’s TV debate, co-host Miriam O’Callaghan directly asked the Fine Gael leader whether a member of his party contacted RTE to ask for the clip to be taken down. “I have no knowledge of that whatsoever, because this clip was entirely appropriate,” said Mr Harris. “It was a very important moment on the campaign. “And RTE and indeed many media outlets have been with me throughout the campaign, covering many interactions that I’ve had with many, many people right across this country.” The Taoiseach said the approach by his team member was part of the “normal contact that happens between party politics and broadcasters on a daily basis”. Mr Harris’s partner-in-government in the last coalition, Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin, said he was not aware of the approach to RTE by Fine Gael. “I didn’t realise this had happened,” he said. “I think Simon has given his explanation to it. I’m not sure it’s as normal or as usual. I just get on with it every day. But, again, I think, you know, I’m not au fait with the details behind all of this, or the background to it. “The video didn’t come down, and it was seen by many, many people. “And I think it illustrates that out there, there are a lot of people suffering in our society. “Notwithstanding the progress we’ve made as a country, a lot of people are facing a lot of individual challenges, and our job as public representatives and as leaders in travelling the country is to listen to people, hear their cases, to understand the challenges that they are going through in their lives. “And when we go about in election campaigns, we have to open up ourselves to criticism and to people calling us to account.” Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald had earlier in the day described reports of the Fine Gael approach to RTE as “chilling”. However, at the start of the debate, she was asked about a media-focused issue related to her own party, namely the controversial manifesto proposal for an independent expert review of RTE’s objectivity in its coverage of the war in Gaza and other international conflicts. Mr Harris previously branded the proposal a “dog whistle to conspiracy theorists” while Mr Martin said it was a “dangerous departure”. Ms McDonald defended the idea during the RTE Prime Time debate on Tuesday. “Politics and politicians should not try to influence editorial decisions or try and have clips taken down because they are inconvenient to them,” she said. “There has to be distance, there has to be objectivity. But I would say I am struck by the very defensive reaction from some to this (the review proposal). “The BBC, for example, a peer review looked at their coverage on migration. Politicians didn’t put their hands on it, and rightly so. “I think in a world where we have to rely on quality information, especially from the national broadcaster, which is in receipt of very substantial public funding, that has to be the gold standard of reliability. I think peer reviews like that are healthy.”

Nagpur: As the clock ticks closer to the end of the year, Nagpur is gearing up to welcome the New Year with grand celebrations. From extravagant parties hosting bigwig DJs to elaborate displays of fireworks, the city is abuzz with excitement and anticipation. Organisers and partygoers alike are sparing no effort to make the New Year's Eve an unforgettable experience. With a plethora of food and drink options, theme-based events, and stunning decorations, the stage is set for an exhilarating night. The state govt's recent relaxation of timings for wine and beer shops, now open until 1am, and bars and pubs permitted to operate until 5am, has further fuelled the enthusiasm. These extended hours promise revelers a longer ‘good time', while giving organisers an opportunity to rake in significant profits. "Many people are planning to go to resorts or farmhouses to celebrate the New Year, which has become a new trend among families. Some big groups of friends too prefer this because they get privacy as well as a large area to themselves to party without any interference," shared Samiksha Joshi, who planned a getaway to a forest resort with her friends. The cost of these celebrations is reflective of the scale and grandeur of the events. On average, people spend between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000 per person for the New Year's celebrations. In and around the city, numerous outdoor and indoor parties are being organised at various venues, including the ones at popular resorts and farmhouses. "Many parties are being held in popular resorts and farms around the city, where the entry fee starts from Rs 3,000 per person and can extend till Rs 10,000," said a party organiser. Within the city limits, pubs, lounges, and high-end hotels are pulling out all the stops to host memorable New Year's Eve events. These venues are offering packages that cater to varying budgets. "The entry fee varies from place to place but could be in the range of Rs 3,000 to s 15,000 per person. Apart from the entry fee, the pubs are also giving cover. For example, if a person pays Rs 6,000 as entry fee, they would get Rs 4,000 as cover to buy drinks or food. The entry fees for couples are less as compared to stags," explained a pub owner. For those looking to splurge, VIP table reservations are proving to be a popular choice. "A prominent party place on Wardha Road is charging around Rs 1.2 lakh for 8 to 10 people to book a VIP table, which will also include a cover of Rs1 lakh. While some smaller pubs are allowing customers to use tables on a first-come, first-served basis, others are charging Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 with cover," said an organiser. Interestingly, the concept of ‘early bird' discounts has gained traction this year, with many organisers offering reduced rates for advance bookings. "The rates would go up manifold during the night of New Year, as the bookings start to fill up," said an industry source. Meanwhile, even small bars and restaurants are planning something special to attract the customers. The party organisers are using social media to promote these events and even sharing their party plans to attract customers. The customers are going through social media to find a perfect party place to welcome the New Year. While the excitement builds, the police and state excise department are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a safe and hassle-free celebration for everyone. According to a senior official from the state excise department, "Last year, 56 one-day permits were given for New Year parties, and this year, as of December 27, around 28 applications have been received. Majority of the applications are expected on December 30 and 31. We anticipate that the number will go up this year, benefiting the state's exchequer." The official also urged citizens to avoid purchasing liquor from unauthorised sellers, cautioning that such products could be spurious and harmful to health. The excise department has also appointed eight dedicated teams to carry out round-the-clock patrolling and monitor illegal liquor sales. With these measures in place, the authorities aim to strike a balance between revelry and safety. Stay updated with the latest news on Times of India . Kolkata: State govt is planning to set up a new food processing unit in north Bengal to process maize and make various products, including poultry feeds. The food processing and horticulture department will seek CM Mamata Banerjee's nod to work on a proposal to develop a mishti (sweet) hub in north Bengal too. Arup Roy, state minister for food processing and horticulture, said: "We have received a proposal from sweetmeat sellers of north Bengal to develop a mishti hub. We will place it before the CM and work will start once she gives the go-ahead." Currently, Bengal has around 100 food processing units, including MSMEs, and 10% of them are run by govt. As for the new unit, Roy said: "We are preferring Siliguri or its nearby area to start it. Initially, this unit will process only maize and make different food items. We will try to make the unit operational as soon as possible in 2025." Bengal was also trying to raise the cultivation of exotic fruits like kiwi, avocado and dragon and seeds were being given to farmers. Roy had inaugurated the 21s International Foodtech 2024 Kolkata, a business-to-business (B2B) exhibition for food processing and its allied industry last Friday. "We are trying to add momentum to the processing of fruits like mango, pineapple and orange in the state for variety of food products," he said. "We are trying to promote the use of food processing technologies in rural areas. For example, modern machinery is being used in Joynagar to make moya," said Zakir Hossain, chief convener of the three-day exhibition, in which over 175 Indian and international companies from food processing and hospitality sector participated.
